I started writing this blog way back in 2015 as a place to write about what I was doing during the year I spent abroad as part of my Modern Languages degree. Then, after graduating in 2017, I spent a year living in Santiago de Chile and working as an English Language Assistant through the British Council Assistantship Scheme.
During both periods I spent overseas, I used keen bean abroad as a way to record what I was doing, both for myself and for any friends or family who happened to be interested. You’ll find posts about the general experience of living abroad, places I’ve visited in France, Spain, Chile and beyond, and the occasional post about grief, following my mother’s illness and death in December 2017.
I don’t update this blog anymore, but I don’t want to delete it just yet – so, if you happen to stumble upon it, please feel free to explore at your leisure.
